In a video linked to the report, Cordoba Corporation’s Executive Vice President Lucy Labruzzo Lucy shares about Cordoba’s positive experiences working with SDG&E and our mutual shared values of promoting diversity and inclusion, “giving back” to the local community, supporting economic development and educational initiatives, fostering job creation, and mentoring other diverse businesses.  The report is available in the following link and Lucy’s video is available on page 25 via a QR code.

SDG&E and the state’s other investor-owned utilities submit their annual supplier diversity reports to the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) as required by CPUC General Order (GO) 156. GO 156 established the rules for the CPUC’s Utility Supplier Diversity Program, which has served as a proven model to promote competition and encourage greater economic opportunities for diverse suppliers.

This year marks the fifth year in which Cordoba Corporation has been highlighted in SDG&E’s annual supplier diversity report.  Cordoba has also been featured by SDG&E’s sister utility, Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas), in its 2018 and 2017 supplier diversity reports to the CPUC. In addition, SDG&E’s Supplier Diversity Department recognized Cordoba Corporation in 2019 with its “Best in Class Award” and SoCalGas and SDG&E’s parent company, Sempra Energy, presented Cordoba Corporation with its “Jeff Thorson Diverse Supplier of the Year Award” in 2018.

“We are proud of SDG&E for its continued success in ‘Making a Difference’ with its outstanding supplier diversity program, and we are honored to be featured in this year’s annual report,” stated Lucy Labruzzo. “We are thrilled to partner with SDG&E to meet San Diego’s energy needs and is the clean and clear choice to power San Diego’s future.”

“Cordoba Corporation is honored to support important infrastructure projects in our work with SDG&E and we are proud be an ambassador of SDG&E’s culture of diversity and inclusion,” stated Cordoba Corporation’s Founder & CEO George L. Pla.
