Cordoba Corporation Joins Long Beach City College to Unveil Southern California’s Largest E-Sports Lab

Long Beach, CA – Long Beach City College (LBCC) proudly announced the grand opening of its state-of-the-art E-Sports Lab, the largest of its kind in Southern California. This cutting-edge facility, located at LBCC’s Liberal Arts Campus, represents a $2.3 million investment in the future of gaming, technology, and workforce development. Cordoba Corporation provided Project Management and Construction Management services for this project.

The E-Sports Lab was officially inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by LBCC Board of Trustees members, students, faculty, and community leaders. The lab features 47 Alienware gaming stations, an optimized lighting system for player comfort, and a fully equipped casting booth for live professional-grade broadcasting of gaming competitions.

The lab will serve as a hub for LBCC’s competitive e-sports teams, which participate in national tournaments for games like League of Legends and Valorant. It will also provide students with hands-on experience in the rapidly growing e-sports industry, projected to be worth $6 billion by 2030.

The E-Sports Lab was funded through Measure LB and LBCC’s capital outlay fund. Construction began in March 2024 and was completed in July 2024, with the lab opening to students in the Fall 2024 semester.
