Cordoba Corporation Welcomes Sam Unger

Cordoba Corporation is pleased to announce that Sam Unger recently joined our growing Water Infrastructure Sector as a Senior Project Manager and Commercial Development Specialist.

With more than 40 years of experience and leadership in both the public and private sectors in environmental policy, water infrastructure development, and water quality, Sam is a recognized expert in program and project development, project management and environmental compliance.  His experience includes water and wastewater treatment; site cleanup; development of water quality standards for municipal and industrial stakeholders; and design, construction and start-up of water treatment and storage systems.

Sam previously served as the Executive Officer of the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board and he brings valuable experience in developing the regulatory framework for development of multiple beneficial uses and social equity for water resources in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.  Prior to his appointment as Executive Officer of the Regional Board, Sam served as program and project manager for design and construction of water infrastructure projects and solid and hazardous waste infrastructure projects in the private and public sector.

His work addressed water quality while promoting local water supply sources.”

“I am pleased to welcome Sam to the Water Infrastructure Sector,” stated Henry Martinez, Cordoba Senior Vice President for Water Infrastructure.  “He brings a fresh perspective and unique experience that will greatly benefit our water clients and augment the knowledge depth of our internal staff.”

Sam will help lead Cordoba’s growth in the commercial sector.  His direct experience supporting and creatively working with both municipal and private sectors clients include the City of Los Angeles, Los Angeles Department of Water & Power, LA Sanitation, Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County, the County of Ventura Public Works Department and the City of Santa Monica, among many others.  Sam’s experience in assisting water organizations identify opportunities to obtain low-cost funding and grants for water infrastructure improvement projects is a valuable skill he will be able to offer to future clients.

Sam earned his Masters of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and is licensed as a Professional Chemical and Mechanical Engineer in California.
