Cordoba Corporation’s Managing Partner Maria Mehranian, who serves as the President of Armenia Fund USA, provided the keynote speech at the Annual Hayastan Foundation Toronto Banquet on October 20, 2019 at the Armenian Community Center in Toronto, Canada.

The banquet, which was attended by 360 supporters and was organized under the auspices of the Embassy of Armenia in Canada, raised $670,000 ($880,000 Canadian) to support important infrastructure projects in Armenia and Artsakh.  Welcome remarks were provided by H.E. Anahit Harutyunyan, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Canada.

Maria’s eloquent keynote address emphasized the role that organizations such as Armenia Fund, Hayastan Foundation and related affiliates across the globe have played in the lives of thousands of people in Armenia and Artsakh, serving as a bridge to the Armenian Diaspora. Through generous donations from 700,000 supporters across the Diaspora, these organizations have raised more than $350 million and have completed over 1,100 infrastructure projects in Armenia and Arsakh.  Completed projects include schools, community centers, housing, highways, roads, water pipelines, gas pipelines, power lines, hospitals, clinics, cultural and sport centers, greenhouses and irrigation networks.  These projects have been lifelines, life-giving, life-saving and are truly making a difference in the daily lives of families in Armenia and Artsakh.

“I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of the Armenia Fund and Hayastan Foundation at this year’s banquet in Toronto and to be part of the evening’s effort to raise nearly $700,000 in support of infrastructure projects in Armenia and Artsakh,” stated Maria Mehranian.  “It is heartwarming and invigorating to know that these trusted organizations are able to coalesce Armenians throughout the Diaspora to support much needed infrastructure projects that are providing opportunities to our others and sisters in Armenia and Artsakh.”
