John has 19 years of experience managing and designing a wide range of project types, including higher education, K-12 education, health care, commercial, industrial factory-warehouse, and residential design / construction of new and existing facilities. He is a California licensed Architect, a Certified Construction Manager (CCM), a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and a LEED AP.
John serves as the Program Director for the Bond Management Program at Long Beach Community College District, where Cordoba Corporation is responsible for the program and construction management of the District’s $1.6 Billion Bond Program. As Program Director, John currently oversees $320M of active bond construction projects in design or construction. John is directly responsible for the oversight of 25 Bond Management Team members and he directs activities such as planning, financing, project controls, project design and construction and long-range scheduling for over 20 projects of varying sizes on two campuses.
As an architectural designer, John has led projects through all design phases, including pre-design, programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, local jurisdictional review/submittal process, bid and award, and construction administration.
As a construction manager, John’s skills include schedule preparation and updates, site and safety logistics planning for owners and subcontractors, budget and cost controls, quality control review, bid procurement, and construction oversight to ensure that projects are on time and on budget. In addition, John is proficient in numerous computer software programs, including Bluebeam, Unifier, Procore, Revit (BIM), DataCAD, AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat Professional Products, Microsoft Office, MS Project, Apple software, Final Cut Express, and Primavera Contract Manager.
The skills John has honed from working in the architectural and construction management industry enable him to work efficiently to provide our clients with effective program and construction management services. John’s best attributes are being a problem solver and extremely client-centered, which is essential to Program and Construction Management as each project poses new / different challenges, and the approach in which you resolve the challenges with the client is almost as important as the resolution itself.
