Cordoba Corporation’s Founder & CEO, George L. Pla in his capacity as the President of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Commission, attends the 2024 Paris Olympic Games with Mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass.

As Los Angeles prepares for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Pla and Mayor Bass are learning from Paris on best practices. Part of their visits will include the tour of the Paris 2024 Olympic cauldron at the Tuileries Garden, a visit to Hotel De Ville, Paris City Hall, for a live fan activation at La Terrasse des Jeux where fans from all over the city are able to watch the games together, and the broadcasting center with NBC at the Eiffel Tower.

“I can’t wait for 2028, where we’re going to display not only Los Angeles, but California to the entire world. Infrastructure is crucial for a host city during the Olympics, ensuring efficient transportation, modern venues, and adequate accommodation for athletes and visitors. We are learning a lot here in Paris and we are bringing back the best ideas and solutions on how we can make strategic investments in infrastructure that will lead to long-term economic benefits, urban development, and an enhanced global profile,” said Pla, “I also look forward to planning how the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum will play an integral role in 2028—we’re going to make history!”

Pla will participate in the Paris Olympic Games closing ceremony with Mayor Bass where she will receive the Olympic flag and bring it to Los Angeles for the 2028 Summer Olympic and Paralympic games..
