High School Football Invitationals

Cordoba Corporation’s Founder and CEO George L. Pla, under his capacity as the President of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Commission, has been inviting high school JV and Varsity Football teams across the Los Angeles Region for students to experience a game of their lifetime.

“We are doing this for the student athletes, giving most students a once in a lifetime opportunity to play and perform in a historical venue in front of hundreds of their friends, family, and fans. We have been planning this event solely to give back to the communities, and we do not ask the schools or school district to subsidize any financing for this game. In fact, all ticket sales revenue will go directly back to the athletic programs for each school,” said George L. Pla.

In 2022, Garfield and Roosevelt High School played the East LA Classic with a halftime show performance from Will.I.Am and the Black Eyed Peas.

In 2023, Dorsey and King Drew High School played the South LA Classic with a halftime show performance by Xzibit and Warren G.

In 2024, San Pedro and Banning High School will play the Harbor Classic with a halftime show performance TBA in Fall 2024.
