Project Name

Inland Feeder Program, Arrowhead Tunnels and Highland Pipeline

Client

Metropolitan Water District of Southern California

Sector

Water

Overview

Completed in 2009, the $1.2 billion, 44-mile Inland Feeder water line fully integrates the Southern California MWD’s distribution system, connecting State Water Project (SWP) supplies with the Colorado River Aqueduct to flow into Diamond Valley Lake reservoir. It nearly triples Metropolitan’s water delivery take away capacity. The Inland Feeder was one of the largest water lines built in the past three decades. Construction of the Inland Feeder, particularly the project’s Arrowhead west and east tunnels under the San Bernardino Mountains, was difficult as these tunnels traversed extremely difficult geologic conditions with numerous earthquake fault zones.

Cordoba’s Role

Cordoba Corporation worked with the construction management team to provide schedule monitoring and claims analysis. We also provided 24-hour quality control inspection services on the two tunnels. Our inspectors monitor conditions including water pressure, slurry mix, and boring speeds.
