Sonia Babian is a Project Manager with over 15 years of project and construction management experience in education, facilities and transportation fields. Currently assigned as a Project Manager for the Build LACCD Program at Pierce Community College, she is experienced in overseeing all phases of projects from conceptual design through construction close out. She is well versed in utilizing all project control modules in Expedition Contract Manager, Proliance and Unifier, and she is proficient in AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator and Bluebeam.
Sonia has participated in delivering a range of small to large complex projects from planning through close out, including modernizations, new construction, interim facilities, landscaping, storm water retention systems, transportation and accessibility upgrades, furnishing and equipment procurement, and move management. The projects have included the project management of a new design-build Agriculture Education Center and associated greenhouses, two new design-build smart classroom and lab buildings with Art gallery; and construction management of a 900-space design-build parking structure with a rooftop solar array, a LEED platinum certified and Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) Award Winner Math Tech & Culinary Arts Building, administrative buildings; and other numerous smart classroom buildings, renovation projects, including associated interim facilities and move planning.
