Expo Light Rail Train at Station

Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) Exposition Light Rail Transit Phase I

Los Angeles, CA

As design team members of Phase I, Cordoba Corporation led the roadway design for street reconstruction on the western most segment of the project, which had impacts on facilities for both the City of Los Angeles and Culver City. Cordoba Corporation’s role included street reconstruction design, incorporation of new bike lane facilities, and CADD support.

With service started in 2012, the Exposition Light Rail Transit Phase I spans 8.6 miles and adds 12 stations connecting Downtown Los Angeles with Culver City. It runs along the old Pacific Electric line and restores access to efficient public transportation to the region. The project includes 12 new stations serving USC, Exposition Park, and diverse Los Angeles neighborhoods such as Culver City, the Crenshaw District, and Downtown LA and expands the LA Metro system to 80 stations and over 87 miles of rail to destinations across Los Angeles County.
