Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) Pipeline Safety Enhancement Plan (PSEP) Line 31-09 Hydro Test Project
The Line 31-09 Project is part of the Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) Pipeline Safety Enhancement Plan (PSEP) to improve the safety and reliability of California’s natural gas pipeline system. Cordoba Corporation provided a full range of engineering and design services and project management support to SoCalGas to complete a hydrotest of this 24” diameter natural gas pipeline located in the City of Industry, California.
This was a complex project in an urban environment requiring extensive substructure research, special design accommodations and significant interface with permitting agencies due to crossings of a creek channel, a 16” Kinder Morgan petroleum pipeline, and a Union Pacific Railroad Line (UPRR). Special design accommodations and permitting were required for nearby 21” and 36” water lines, a 21” sewer line, high voltage power lines and work within a major highway interchange. Permitting agencies included UPRR, Kinder Morgan, the City of Industry, Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, and the County of Los Angeles.
